Looking at going to uni or to undertake a higher level apprenticehsip? If yes, this is a course for anyone over 19 to get the entry grades needed.

This is a one year course in engineering that involves studying a range of subjects that cover the mechanical as well as electrical and electronic fields in engineering. This qualification is equivalent to 2 A–levels in engineering. This is for adult learners to progress into higher education and employment.  The units that are covered are as follow:

Unit 01 – Health and Safety in the Engineering Workplace – Electrical/Mechanical

Unit 02 – Communications for Engineering Technicians – Electrical/Mechanical

Unit 03 – Mathematics for Engineering Technicians – Electrical/Mechanical

Unit 04 – Engineering project  – Electrical/Mechanical

Unit 07 – Properties and Applications of Engineering Materials – Mechanical

Unit 08 – Mechanical Principles and Application – Mechanical

Unit 12 – Engineering Drawing for Technicians – Mechanical

Unit 13 – Computer-aided Drafting in Engineering – Electrical/Mechanical

Unit 24 – Principles & Applications of Electronic Devices & Circuits – Electrical

Unit 56 – Electrical and Electronic Principles – Electrical

Unit 65 – Engineering design  – Electrical/Mechanical.
