Birmingham METS Basketball Academy

The Birmingham METS Basketball is an established Junior Basketball Club who have developed a hugely successful programme based out of Sutton Coldfield College lasting over 15 years. The programme is a springboard opportunity for players to develop their skills and ability in a sport that they love to play and hopefully then go onto higher level Basketball through a scholarship, HE or professional playing career.

All student athletes on the Birmingham METS Basketball Academy will enrol on a Programme of Study which is aligned to their Qualifications on Entry. Student Athletes will have 10-14 hours of Netball Specific Training and Match play combined with Tutorial, Purposeful Work Experience, Maths* or English* (Subject to QoE) alongside their selected Academic Pathway.

Academic Pathway Options:

  • A levels in; Drama, Philosophy, Art, Biology, Chemistry, Media, Psychology, Mathematics, Physics, History, Sociology, Business, Law and Religious Studies
  • Vocational courses in Accounting, Acting, Applied Science, Business, Dance, IT, Musical Theatre, Sport, Fitness, Travel, Uniformed Services, Health and Social Care
