BMet Fellowship awarded to adi Group CEO

Alan Lusty, the CEO of leading specialist engineering business, adi Group, has been presented with a special award to highlight his positive relationship with BMet.

The Fellowship award was presented to Alan at this year’s BMet HE Graduation Event, held at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire on 18 December 2019.

Fellowship Award

The award recognised Alan’s outstanding work in championing the college, as well as developing student employability and opportunities in engineering.

Alan believes in inspiring young minds and starting the recruitment process early. Such is his drive and commitment, he created a pre-apprenticeship programme aimed at early teenagers.

The programme gives hands-on engineering experience to participants and since its launch, nearly 50 students have taken part.

Speaking at the BMet HE graduation ceremony, Alan said:

“I feel humbled to receive the award. The reason that I and others do what we do, is to truly try to make a positive impact in young people’s lives and it is nice to know that it is appreciated. Education can benefit everyone and at the adi Group, we will continue to demonstrate how this can happen – no matter what your background is!”

Over 200 students graduated from a number of higher level diplomas, foundation and full honours degree programmes at the event.
