BMet HE Graduation Ceremony showcases student achievement and success

Graduates from a range of higher level courses at BMet College were officially rewarded for their academic accomplishments at a special ceremony last week (18 December).

The prestigious annual event, took place at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. BMet welcomed over 200 former students, to the celebration, who received their awards alongside their family and friends.

Cliff Hall, Principal of the college, presented the high-achieving graduates with their certification scrolls, as a marker of their fantastic talents and abilities.

Speaking of the esteemed celebration, Cliff Hall said after the event:

“It is always a fantastic opportunity for us to officially reward our invaluable graduates, who have shown real focus and commitment in successfully achieving their higher level courses and apprenticeships.”

Invited guests included keynote speaker, Asha Devi, a former Alumni recipient at last year’s graduation ceremony and an associate director at global company Arup.

Asha inspired attendees with an insightful talk about her personal and unique journey, which began at BMet and has seen her travel the globe. A key example of this was her work in New York, where she helped rescue teams identify safe routes through the collapsed twin towers following the “9/11 attacks.”

Other highlights of the day included performances from a performing arts group from Sutton Coldfield College (part of BMet) who opened the show alongside local spoken word artist, Jasmine Gardosi and Raza Hussain (also known as “Wuzzamill”) who closed the show with a captivating, inspiring performance.

Level 3 students were also presented with “highly commended” and “outstanding achievement” awards by Mr Hall for demonstrating high quality academic work during their studies.

BMet offers a wide range of higher level programmes – from Higher National Diplomas (HNDs), Higher National Certificates (HNCs), Foundation Degrees to Bachelor of Science (BSc). The college also offers professional courses and apprenticeships.

For anyone wanting to gain a Level 3, BMet also have a variety of Access to Higher Education courses.
