Our Open Invite

Next Saturday (16 June) is Open Event at BMet. School leavers can explore the college’s sites across Birmingham and the Black Country between 10am and 1pm and come away with their place on a September course.

Adults thinking of being back in the classroom can also explore full and part-time study and training opportunities available from GCSE-equivalent through to university level.

Andrew Cleaves, BMet Principal said: “Thousands of people join BMet every year to experience new ways of learning, meet different people and of course get ready for university and their dream jobs.

“Our Open Event will show you all the amazing ways we can help you achieve your career goals. This includes inspiring you in the classroom, offering careers advice and mentoring, running social activities and providing extra learning and financial support if you’re eligible to receive these.

BMet has a wide range of vocational courses, apprenticeships and A Levels covering art and design, sport, construction, travel and tourism, health and social care, uniformed public services as well as science, dental, medical, podiatry, music, performance arts, animal care and horticulture.

“If you like what you can see on the day, you can apply for a course on the spot, be interviewed and offered a place,” Andrew Cleaves continued. “This way your college future is in place and you can get on with enjoying your summer!”

The Open Event is running at the following locations:

• Art & Design Centre, Brierley Hill
• Erdington Skills Centre
• James Watt College
• Kidderminster Academy
• Matthew Boulton College
• Stourbridge College
• Sutton Coldfield College
• The Study Centre at Botanical Gardens
