Role model apprentices recognised at college event
Three apprentices training at Stourbridge College have been congratulated on their career achievements and named inspiring role models for others. Accounts apprentice, Rhys Bridgens, electrical apprentice, Alicia Hewins and customer service apprentice, Jack Riese were presented with awards during a recruitment event held at the college.
“These three are star apprentices who have made excellent progress at work and in their studies,” said Gill Coldicott, Head of Stourbridge College. ““Both Rhys and Jack have successfully established themselves in in the financial services sector, an industry that continues to grow across the West Midlands. By doing so, they have proved that being an apprentice is an excellent alternative to studying A Levels; something which just isn’t for everyone.
“And as a female working in construction, Alicia has shown that opportunities are available and that it is possible for individuals to achieve and continue to be successful.
“We are incredibly proud of them all and are very excited about their future prospects.”
Rhys works for E R Grove and Company in Halesowen, Alicia for Dudley Metropolitan Council and Jack is employed by IPG Retail Limited in Brierley Hill.
The apprentices’ parents and employers all attended their presentation.
