Student enterprise on the menu at new Kidderminster Academy cafe

The café bar at Kidderminster Academy in Weavers Wharf is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.30am-2pm and on Wednesdays from 9.30am- 1pm.

The café offers a seasonal breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea menu, with food and drinks prepared and served by the Academy’s hospitality students.

Lecturer, Sarah Billet said: “Following a trial period last month, the students are thrilled to be officially launching this new venture.

“They've worked incredibly hard to come up with a menu that offers delicious food at great prices. They also spent time considering the layout, the type of atmosphere they wanted to create and how they would offer excellent customer service. We think people will like it.”

Heading up the promotion of the new café is hospitality student, Dylan Garbett. The 19-year-old who lives in Kidderminster said: “There aren’t many new business ventures opening up in the area at the moment, so we hope the local community will give us their support.

“The café is a great place for people of any age to come and relax, either on their own or with friends. We will also welcome business bookings if people want to hold meetings here.

“We’re determined to do all we can to make the café a success.”

Kidderminster Academy’s Café is open to the public from next Tuesday (17 November). To make a booking, call 0845 155 0101* ext.5804
