Sutton College exchange students meet Lord Mayor

The meeting was one of a series of activities arranged by staff and students at Sutton Coldfield College.

Lecturer, Graham Burquest who co-ordinated the programme explained: “The focus of this exchange programme is culture and national identity. With students from Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Italy and Poland spending time with us, there have been lots of ideas, beliefs and information for us all to share and discuss.

“The Lord Mayor supported this by talking to the students and their teachers about the history of Birmingham and the ways that it is a forward-thinking city. Everyone enjoyed meeting him.”

The exchange students’ programme also included a trip to London and visits to BMet’s Matthew Boulton College and Kidderminster Academy. The programme will then continue with visits to other European countries next year, which BMet students will also take part in.
