BMet Learning Development Advocate invited to world-renowned Microsoft digital education event

A Learning Technologies Manager from BMet is in high spirits after being selected to share her digital expertise at Microsoft’s Education Exchange, E² – an annual event taking place in Sydney, Australia this year.

Pooja works across the three BMet colleges – James Watt College, Matthew Boulton College and Sutton Coldfield College.

Pooja, is one of only seven Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Experts chosen from the UK to attend the prestigious event, which recognises and celebrates the achievements of key educators worldwide who are preparing students for life in the 21st century.

For the unique opportunity, Pooja will be working on a special project about the technology that she uses in her lessons.

This year’s theme ‘Changemakers in education: Global citizens of today shaping the world of tomorrow’, is set to offer an all-encompassing and insightful agenda for invited attendees.

Pooja was chosen to attend the event after impressing Microsoft with her social media contribution to the BETT trade show in London in January.

Speaking of the opportunity, Pooja said:

“I feel it is a great honour and fantastic opportunity that will be a chance for me to network with like-minded people from all over the world, form international connections and increase my knowledge of applications and products that I can share within BMet.”

Between 24 – 26 March, Pooja will have the opportunity to attend keynotes, network and collaborate in interactive workshops, alongside other Microsoft innovative educators.
Attendees will also be invited to share their experiences and ideas on leading transformation, as well as demonstrating how to bring constituents on board to sustain change and accelerate improvements, in learning outcomes.

On the final evening of the event, all attendees will be invited to attend an Awards Ceremony.

Cliff Hall, Principal at BMet, said: “This is a huge achievement and fantastic opportunity for Pooja, which I am confident will help further advance her already considerable digital knowledge.

“Pooja has always displayed a passion for learning and for equipping learners with the digital skills and knowledge to progress in their future careers.”
