BMet Unlocked

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement of enhanced restrictions in England from 5th November, the Government continues to prioritise the wellbeing and long-term futures of our young people and will not be closing schools, colleges or universities.

BMet will be open for students as planned until the end of term.

Initial guidance has been published at this link.   It includes a short section on schools, colleges and universities.

We re-opened our college buildings at the start of September and continue to put in several safety measures.  Each of our colleges has a comprehensive risk assessment in place to ensure the safety of our students and staff and any visitors.  To read a copy of the risk assessments please email

We have done all we can to make it a safe environment for staff and students and visitors to BMet.

Our priority is to ensure all those coming into college feel safe.

We are asking students to wear face masks at all times in college and advise avoiding touching them when they are worn.  Each time you touch the mask you will need to wash your hands or use hand sanitiser.

We have also created a short video clip to demonstrate how to wear a face mask.

Anyone who is exempt from wearing a face covering should download the badge from the Department of Health to wear or keep on their phone.   Click here to find out more.

We have also developed a student guide and three short films on the measures we have put in place on social distancing.  Click on each college video below.
