The difference a year makes

This time last year, Neeraj Kainth found out that a piece of his final major project artwork was going to be included in Origins, the awarding body UAL’s national exhibition.

He was then awarded a prize for having the show’s ‘strongest mixed-media piece’.

12 months on, Neeraj is a HND graphic design student preparing to exhibit at the Birmingham Design Festival.

“I’m much more confident now about showing my work to others,” said the student, based at Matthew Boulton College’s FEED Studios at Millennium Point. “I want people to give me their feedback. You have to be open to getting all kinds of comments or you’ll never improve as an artist. There’s also pride in talking to others about how your work came together.”

Neeraj talks more about Privacy Protection, his work displayed at UAL’s Origins 2017 exhibition here:

Called no.set.format, the FEED HND Graphic Design exhibition runs from 7-10 June at the Quantum Exhibition Centre. Exhibits relate to Chernobyl, generational differences and a commentary on mass surveillance.

“We work in different mediums such as animation, print, sculpture and many other art forms and all of our work is a personal journey.” added Neeraj.
