Work Experience at Jaguar Land Rover for school students

Summer work experience programme

Jaguar Land Rover has launched its application process for summer term work experience placements for students aged 14-18. The programme is open to young people interested in careers at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).

Placements will include traditional work experience with the business, as well as careers activities within the Jaguar Land Rover Education Centres. The programme has been developed to provide students with a better understanding of careers at Jaguar Land Rover as well as increasing their interest in pursuing STEM subjects.

Please note: no work experience requests will be accepted or can take place outside of this process, in line with JLR’s safeguarding policy. 

Our work experience application form is now available on Springpod, an early careers network for young people and schools which connects them with employers.

Students should follow this link and either log in if they have an account or sign up to Springpod and select Jaguar Land Rover as a company to connect with during registration. They will then be directed to the work experience application form. Please note – the link will not work if opened in internet explorer.

Summer Work Experience Application

Applications are now closed.

A school reference form will be sent to shortlisted students and teachers on Monday 16 March 2020 which includes attendance, conduct and predicted/actual exam grade information. The student must ensure a completed reference form is returned by Friday 20 March to secure their placement.

All placements will be confirmed by Monday 6 April 2020.

Work Experience Terms and Conditions

All applicants will be assessed against apprentice programme qualifications and other information provided by students. No preference will be given to students related to Jaguar Land Rover employees.

Students can only apply for one work experience week at one location per academic year. Each placement week comprises Monday induction at Education Centre, Tuesday to Thursday placement with mentor in chosen department/site, Friday debrief and careers workshops at Education Centre.

As a responsible business, Jaguar Land Rover has a duty of care to all employees. It is Company Policy that no young person in education under the age of 18 can be brought into any Jaguar Land Rover premises outside the work experience programme administered by the Education Centres.
